VietNamNet Bridge – Three more cases of the A/H1N1 virus were reported in the northern province of Lao Cai on May 7, bringing the total number of infections recorded in the province to nine.

Among the infections, two primary school pupils have been sent to Bac Ha District while the other patients are being treated at the provincial hospital and isolated at the provincial ethnic minority boarding school.

The Lao Cai provincial Preventive Health Centre said the people being treated in the hospitals are in good condition.

No new cases of the disease have been reported in Quang Kim Village, Bat Xat District since the first outbreak on April 21 and the patient infected with the swine flu virus on April 26 has fully recovered.

The health sector in Lao Cai has been disseminating information about the H1N1 virus and preventive measures to the public, especially at schools and public places. It has also directed district medical centres to monitor the disease and isolate any suspected cases.
