Nguyen Thu Thao and Nguyen Han Viet were crowned Miss and Mister Tourism Vietnam 2026 during the grand finale held in Can Tho on the evening of May 23. The new beauty queen received VND300 million ($11,500), while the new male titleholder took home VND200 million ($7,700), along with opportunities to compete internationally.

The final night concluded with the highest honors awarded to Nguyen Thu Thao from Tuyen Quang and Nguyen Han Viet from Khanh Hoa.

The judging panel featured People’s Artist Le Khanh as head judge, alongside People’s Artist Vuong Duy Bien and international guests including Mister Supranational 2025 Swann Lavigne, Miss Earth Water 2025 Trinh My Anh and The Miss Globe 2025 Chayathanus Saradatta.

Contestants competed in three categories including brocade-style ba ba outfits, swimwear and evening wear before entering the decisive interview round. One highlight of the finale was the multilingual performances in English, French and Korean by contestants in the top six.

Miss Nguyen Thu Thao stands 1.8m tall and is currently a student at the National Economics University. During the interview round, when asked about the role of young people in promoting sustainable green tourism, she said: “Green tourism is not only a trend but also a vital responsibility of the younger generation to preserve natural and cultural values for the future.”

Her victory earned her VND300 million ($11,500) in cash and a prestigious pearl crown. She will also officially represent Vietnam at Miss Tourism International.

Mister Nguyen Han Viet is 1.82m tall, a student at Nha Trang University and works as a freelance model. Having both Vietnamese and Korean heritage, he impressed judges by answering fluently in Korean during the interview segment.

The title brought Han Viet VND200 million ($7,700), a ceremonial scepter and the chance to represent Vietnam at Mister Tourism World.

Official results for the female competition included fourth runner-up Nguyen Lam Phuong from Lai Chau, third runner-up Lam Thoai Linh from Can Tho, second runner-up Dinh Ngoc Sa from Ca Mau and first runner-up Tran Thi My Phung from An Giang.

Official results for the male competition included fourth runner-up Nguyen Van Duc Tai from Bac Ninh, third runner-up Nguyen Minh Tuan from Hanoi, second runner-up Bui Quoc Huy from Ninh Binh and first runner-up Lam Thoai Anh from Dak Lak.

Before handing over the crown, reigning queen Vo Cao Ky Duyen performed an emotional final walk reflecting on more than a year of her reign, including journeys across Vietnam and her experience representing the country at Miss Supranational 2025.

Huy Minh
