Thua Thien-Hue: Commune chair apologizes to local man

The chairman of Huong Vinh commune, in Thua Thien – Hue province, had to go to the home of a local resident to offer apology to this man for taking harsh behaviors against and illegal capturing him.
VietNamNet Bridge – The chairman of Huong Vinh commune, in Huong Tra town, Thua Thien – Hue province, had to go to the home of a local resident to offer an apology to this man for taking harsh behaviors against and illegal capturing him.

On April 9, the Party Standing Committee of Huong Vinh commune said that Mr. Nguyen Van Bon, chairman of Huong Vinh commune, had already apologized to Mr. Nguyen Duy Hieu, a resident of Huong Vinh commune, for having violent behavior against and illegally capturing Hieu.

On April 1, while watching a football game, Hieu had a scuffle with another man. Chairman Bon came and held Hieu’s hair to pull back. He then called a police officer of Huong Vinh commune to handcuff Hieu and took him to the local police station.

Mr. Cao Van Cuong, Chairman of the Veterans’ Association of Huong Vinh commune, rushed to dissuade but Bon used a soldier’s hat to hit Cuong on the head.

After Hieu’s family reported the incident to the police of Huong Tra district, Hieu was released.
