Foreign tourists in Hue Imperial City

Representatives from travel agencies supported the proposal, agreeing that in the immediate future the frequency should be increased to two flights a week instead of the current two flights a month, which they said will help fully exploit the tourism potential of Hue, a world cultural heritage site.

Jetstar reported that the flights between Hue – Bangkok have an average occupancy of 70 percent.

However, the route has not attracted tourists who go on short tour due to low frequency, according to a Jetstar representative, who added that it is essential to increase frequency of flights to maintain the route.

Increasing frequency of Hue-Bangkok direct flights is important, and should be done this summer, said a representative of a Thai tourism agency.

Representative of travel agencies asked the province to decide flight timing and ticket price while the Phu Bai airport was asked to offer incentives to promoting travel tours in long-term.

The provincial People’s Committee assigned relevant agencies and departments to create favourable conditions for frequent flights.

The province also pledged to launch support policies for travel agencies and firms to promote their tours to attract more tourists on the Hue – Bangkok regular route.
