VietNamNet Bridge – There are whispers and comments of people in the town of Cai Be in Cai Be District, Tien Giang Province, about an “influential” who was buried amid the residential area.
The tomb of a Chinese Vietnamese man named TKC is located on Le Van Duyet road, Cai Be town, in a populated area.
VietNamNet’s reporters observed that the grave was built even more solid than surrounding houses.
Looking it from outside, one may think that this is a normal house but it is noted as “Tran Gia Mo” (Tomb of Tran Family).
Local residents said that Mr. TKC died on February 13, 2013. On February 15, he was buried on this piece of land, which is located between two houses. Mr. C’s family runs a big construction material firm in the town.
At that time, a lot of people in the neighborhood were very indignant and tried to prevent the family from burying the dead here but they could not. Local people said that they had reported the case to the local government.
However, in a talk with VietNamNet, Mr. Nguyen Van Kien, the town’s Vice Chair was surprised of the incident, saying that he did not know anything about it.
"Although the town does not have a cemetery but such burial is unacceptable," he said.
Mr. Vo Thanh Duc, Cai Be town’s Chair said: "I have heard about the case but I have not received any written complaint so I have not handled it yet."
Then he proposed VietNamNet to contact Mr. Luong, an official of Cai Be District, who is a relative of the dead.
Mr. Le Ba Thi - Chief of the office of Cai Be district government - said he did not know about the tomb, though it is just 500m from the district’s office.
Thi confirmed that the district administration would inspect the case.
