Ngoc beat 37 contestants to win the title, while the first and second runners-up were Nguyen Ngoc Huyen from northern Bac Ninh province, and Nguyen Phuong Khanh, a student studying in Singapore.
The new Miss Sea Vietnam Global won a crown worth 1.7 billion VND (74,500 USD) and a cash prize of 500 million VND (22,000 USD).
The jury also handed out ten extra titles, including Miss Photogenic, Miss Ao Dai (Vietnam’s traditional dress), Miss Talent, Miss Evening Gown, and Miss Island.
The Miss Sea Vietnam Global 2018 is a national pageant with 70 contestants selected in preliminary rounds in Vietnam, Poland, the US and Australia.
Mai Van Huynh, Vice Chairman of the provincial Kien Giang People’s Committee, said that the pageant aims to honour the beauty of Vietnamese women and promote the images of seas and islands of Vietnam in general and Kien Giang in particular to tourists around the world.-VNA
