The Binh Duong native has become the first Vietnamese footballer to win the top goal scorer title.

In the group stage of the AFF Cup 2022, Linh scored three goals in matches against Laos, Malaysia, and Myanmar.

The 26-year-old player then went on to add to his goal tally in the semi-final round against Indonesia and opened the scoring for Vietnam in the first leg of the AFF Cup final against Thailand.

In the past, a total of three Vietnamese footballers have been honoured as the best player at the AFF Cup, including Nguyen Hong Son in 1998, Duong Hong Son in 2008, and Nguyen Quang Hai in 2018.
