Top Vietnamese player Nguyen Tien Minh has returned to the world top 20 in the latest Badminton World Federation rankings.

The Olympian has kept the same score of 42,720 for the past nine weeks but benefited from a drop out of the top 20 by Boonsak Ponsana of Thailand.

Chinese badminton player Lin Dan climbed two spots to place in the top 5 directly behind So Wan Ho (the Republic of Korea).

Meanwhile Viktor Axelsen (Denmark) returns to top 10 and replaces Japanese athlete Kenichi Tago.

The top three remain unchanged from the previous ranking, which belongs to the Lee Chong Wei (Malaysia) in the number one spot followed by Chen Long (China) and Jan Jorgensen (Denmark) in slot 2 and 3 respectively.

In women’s singles, Vietnamese player Vu Thi Trang continues to stand in the top 50. The first three positions belong to Chinese players, Li Xuerui, Wang Shixian and Wang Yihan, in that order.
