VietNamNet Bridge – Beating host player Yun Hu at the Hong Kong Super Series Badminton Tournament, Vietnam’s top player Tien Minh will meet the current champion of Asian Games 2010, China’s Lin Dan at the quarter-final round.

 

According to the world badminton ranking released on December 9, Tien Minh now ranks 9th in the world after falling four places .

 

In the third round of the Hong Kong Super Series on the evening of December 9, Tien Minh played against the Hong Kong’s Yun Hu, the 13th best player in the world. In their latest meeting at the Philippines Open 2009, Yun Hu beat Tien Minh 1-2.

 

However, the after 42 minutes of play Tien Minh emerged as the winner of last night’s match, defeating Yun Hu 2-0.

 

In the next round, he will face Lin Dan, who easily defeated the Korean player Wan Ho Shon  2-0 in the third round.

 

In his last three meetings with Lin Dan, Tien Minh was defeated. The latest match was at ASIAD 2010 in Guangzhou last month.
