The promotion came as a result of Minh's brilliant performance at the recent Sydney International Challenge 2015 where he beat Malaysia's Zulfadli Zulkiffli 2-0 to claim the overall championship title - his first in 2015.

Chen Long of China remains on top of the world with an amazing 98,681 points, followed by Jan O Jorgensen of Denmark with 75,967 points and Chinese Lin Dan with 73,597 points.

On the contrary, Vietnam's top female player Vu Thi Trang dropped one place from 55th to 56th in the world with 23,792 points.

Trang will have the chance to accumulate more points to improve her world ranking at the upcoming 2015 Kawasaki Vietnam International Series where she is top seed in the women's singles event.

The annual event, which takes place at the Tien Son Sports Palace in Da Nang from September 30 to October 4, offers US$5,000 in total prize money, with the men’s and women’s singles winners receiving US$375 each.
