The tournament will be held in Odense City, Denmark from October 15-20 as part of the Super Series Premier system. The champion will get an extra 11,000 points and receive a cash prize of US$400,000.

In the first round on October 16, Tien Minh will face Malaysia’s Wei Feng Chong (seeded No. 17). Recently, he beat the Malaysian rival 2-1 at Vietnam Open 2008, again 2-1 at Vietnam Open 2009 and 2-0 at Taiwan Open 2012.

If he succeeds in the coming match with Wei Feng Chong, Minh will meet the winner of a match between Hans Kristian Vittinghus (Denmark) and Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk (Thailand) in the second round.

Minh’s potential rivals would be Kenichi Tago from Japan (seeded No. 4) in the quarter-finals and Chen Long from China (seeded No. 2) in the semi-final.

In recent times, Tien Minh has clinched a bronze medal at the Japan Open championships and ranked second at the 2013 Taiwan Open Grand Prix Gold.
