Visiting Tich Bien District in An Giang Province in southern Vietnam during the flood season, from July to October of the lunar calendar, visitors will be amazed at the daily activities of the local people in the flood area.

Here, people catch fish and sell their products in the immense flooded field.

Standing on the edge or rowing a sampan, tourists have a chance to see an interesting sight of fishermen in boats spreading nets, checking fishing-rods and using other tools for fishing. Every day, from 4am to 6am, they gather together to sell their products, making the river area boisterous.

At this time of the year, many merchants from other regions go to the market to buy different kinds of fresh fish, such as hemibagrus and carp to sell and make a profit. Fish here are not only fresh, but also quite cheap, from 20,000 VND to 30,000 VND/kg. For local people, it is a gift endowed by nature during flood season.
