Opened for nearly 30 years, the bun moc shop owned by Nguyen Thi Tinh, 71, located next to the gate of Cau Dong Market is one of the well known dining addresses for both locals and tourists.

The shop just consists of two rows of tables and chairs on the pavement and surrounded by canvas. Diners can see the ‘open-air kitchen’, with a big pot of piping hot broth, and different kinds of toppings, such as bamboo sprouts, animal blood pudding and meat balls.

Loyal diners said they like eating there because the meatballs are crispy, lean and fatty, rich in flavor, and have the aroma of mushrooms and wood ear mushrooms.

The shop opens from 6am to 8pm every day, while noon and late afternoon are the peak hours.
