Four Vietnamese students are among 25 recipients of scholarships from the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS:INSEARCH) in Australia.

Local student Dang Thi Ngoc Hiep (2nd, R) wins the AU$52,000 Dianne Leckie Memorial Scholarship of the University of Technology (UTS) in Sydney.



Dang Thi Ngoc Hiep from the central coast province of Phu Yen won the prestigious UTS:INSEARCH Dianne Leckie Memorial Scholarship worth nearly AU$52,000 for her outstanding academic records and community volunteer work. The scholarship includes tuition costs for the remaining two years of Hiep’s university degree. Hiep is a volunteer for the Red Cross and at the Ted Noffs Foundation which assists youth at risk and a volunteer for the City of Sydney as an International Leadership Ambassador.

She aims to have a career in Human Resources, specializing in performance management. She believes that “working as a volunteer international student supporter has inspired me to enhance people’s experiences by interacting with them and motivating them.”

The UTS:INSEARCH Dianne Leckie Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to an international student who has completed the UTS:INSEARCH Diploma of Business and is enrolled in the Bachelor of Business at UTS. It is awarded on the basis of academic merit and personal qualities, including career aspirations.

Van Ngoc Hoang Oanh from the Central Highlands province of Buon Ma Thuot was granted the UTS:INSEARCH Outstanding Graduate Prize of US$5,000 for her highest overall course Grade Point Average (GPA) of the Diploma program. Freshmen Le Thanh Nhan from Hanoi and Nguyen Ngoc Xuan Huy from HCMC received the UTS:INSEARCH Dean Merit Prizes for their highest GPA in their first semester of the Diploma programs. 

Each year, UTS:INSEARCH offers over AU$210,000 in prizes for students who achieve outstanding academic results.
