In an official response, the ministry confirmed it had received reports raising questions about scientific integrity in several projects submitted to the competition.

As the contest follows an open format, post-competition review is considered a key step to ensure objectivity, transparency and compliance with regulations.

Authorities have instructed relevant units to coordinate with the organizing committee, judges and involved individuals to verify and clarify the allegations.

The ministry stated that any violations, if identified, will be handled in accordance with Circular No. 24/2025/TT-BGDDT, which amends regulations governing the national student science competition, as well as other relevant legal provisions.

The review process will adhere to principles of fairness, transparency and rigor, with further updates to be announced once an official conclusion is reached.

The issue gained traction on social media in recent days, where discussions have focused on several top-awarded projects.

Particular attention has been directed at a project titled “Development of multifunctional polyurethane composite materials for fire resistance, thermal insulation and antimicrobial applications in construction and daily life,” submitted by students from Luong Van Tuy High School for the Gifted in Ninh Binh.

The 2025–2026 competition took place in Hanoi from March 20 to 22, bringing together student teams from across the country.

A total of 145 projects received official awards, including 14 first prizes, 29 second prizes, 44 third prizes and 58 fourth prizes.

The first-prize winners represented institutions and localities such as the University of Science under Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Hanoi City, Ninh Binh, Hung Yen, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Dong Nai, Bac Ninh, Quang Ninh and the Vietnam Institute of Educational Sciences.
