They include Kelis Roger from the United States, Samsaya from Norway, duo DJs Lulu Rouge from Denmark, South Korean Park Gyuri and South Korean band From the Airport, Vietnamese singers Toc Tien and Noo Phuoc Thinh, rapper Suboi, and local bands SpaceSpeakers, KOP band, and DJ 1900 Le Theatre.

The deputy director of the central city’s Tourism department, Nguyen Xuan Binh, said Cocofest is the city’s biggest ever music and entertainment tourist attraction.

The Cocofest theme this year is ‘Tropical Colour’. The festival is expected to draw 10,000 visitors for the two-night performance and entertainment activities on the beach.

Cocofest director, musician Nguyen Quoc Trung, said the event will add to the city’s regular festivals, such as International Fireworks Competition, International Marathon, and Ironman, to create more entertainment opportunities for tourists.

“This is the first international entertainment event in the city. We plan to make it an annual festival. We hope this music fest will be a gathering place for singers, bands, and art troupes from around the world and and from Vietnam. Da Nang is a very livable city and a safe and friendly tourism hub in central Vietnam,” Trung said.

“The first performance will run from 2-10pm on opening day, for the affordable ticket price of VNĐ100,000 (US$4.4) for one night,” he said.

The city will offer a bus route connecting the city centre to the Cocofest stage located at CocoBay – the first and biggest entertainment-cum-hospitality complex in Da Nang.

A barefoot race will precede Cocofest. Runners may buy festival tickets at a 50 per cent discount.

Local fans will interact with singers and bands during the two-day festival, join beach cleaning activities, and partake in water sports and street art performances.
