Vietnam National Administration of Tourism yesterday sent a document to tourist management agencies, tourist operators, associations, international travel agents and three- and five-star hotels about bird flu in China, advising people to keep away from infected areas.

Travelers should not go to places with outbreaks of bird flu, especially farms, slaughterhouses, the document said.

The administration clearly said that as per the Department of Preventive Medicine under the Ministry of Health, the bird flu is spreading widely with more outbreaks and infection cases with 460 infected cases in 14 cities and provinces in China.

In first two months of 2017, additional 449 bird flu cases of A/H7N9 including 96 deaths were reported in China.

Accordingly, the Vietnam Administration proposed travel agents to update the information of the disease in the Ministry’s website http://vncdc.gov.vn/

Along with this, the country takes initiative to adopt preventive measures and warnings for tourists who return from the affected areas.
