VietNamNet Bridge – Toyota Classics 2013 – the 16th of the annual concert in Vietnam - is scheduled to take place at the Hanoi Opera House on November 5 with the spotlight on Eastern European rhythms.
This year’s event will be is held by Toyota Motor Asia-Pacific and Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) in co-operation with the Vietnam Performing Arts Centre and the Department of Performing Arts under the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism.
The concert will see the performance of the North Czech Teplice, one of the top Czech orchestras under the baton of Canadian maestro Charles Olivieri-Munroe, as well as Vietnamese violist Nguyen Huu Nguyen, who won many music awards in Paris.
Doan Thi Yen, Deputy Director of TMV said through the event, Toyota hopes to contribute to Vietnam’s culture and classic music development by giving a good chance for Vietnamese music talents, teachers and students to learn performance experience from famous symphony orchestras in the world.
The proceeds from the concert will go to the “Toyota Scholarship for Vietnamese Young Music Talent” programme, which aims to assist excellent students studying in five music training schools under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Yen said.
Toyota Classics has been organised annually from the mid-1990s with many tours to countries in the Asian Pacific region. By now, a total of 171 concerts have been held, attracting almost 214,000 audiences.
As scheduled, Toyota Classics 2013 will travel to 4 countries which are Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia and Brunei from November 5-16.
