The concert under the baton of Japanese conductor Honna Tetsuji will be held at the Ho Guom Opera House at 8 p.m. on August 3.

In the Toyota Concert 2024, pianist Vo Minh Quang will be joined by conductor Honna Tetsuji and the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra (VNSO) to perform two world classics - Piano Concerto in A-minor, Op. 16; and Symphony No.8 in G-major, Op.88.

Honna Tetsuji has worked as music director and chief conductor of the VNSO since 2009. He was appointed conductor of the Osaka Symphony Orchestra from 1995 to 2001 and was a frequent guest conductor of the Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra from 1998 to 2001. Since 2021, he has been the Artistic Advisor to the Vietnam Young Music Academy (VYMI).

Tickets go on sale from July 9 with prices ranging from VND500,000 to VND800,000.

The proceeds will then be donated to students majoring in classical music as part of the Toyota Scholarship in support of young Vietnamese musical talents and charity activities.

The annual Toyota Concert event was first held in 1998 by Toyota Motor Vietnam and the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra (VNSO), with the ultimate aim of bringing classical music closer to the public.
