VietNamNet Bridge - The Toyota Concert Tour 2012 will be held in Vientiane, Phnom Penh, and HCM City and Hanoi from July 24 to August 6.




The concerts will be performed by the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra (VNSO) under the baton of Japanese conductor Honna Tetsuji.

At the concerts in Vietnam, violinist Bui Cong Duy will perform pieces by Beethoven and in Laos and Cambodia, Vietnamese artist Trinh Thanh Binh will sing famous songs written by musicians Hoang Ha and Hoang Viet.

This year’s event is part of the activities to commemorate the 45th anniversary of Vietnam-Cambodia diplomatic ties, the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic ties, and the 35th anniversary of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty.

Toyota Vietnam Foundation (TVF) in cooperation with Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra (VNSO) announces to organize “Toyota Concert Tour 2012 Vietnam – Laos – Cambodia”. This is the 15th year that Toyota Concert has been implemented since 1998, and also the 1st time that Toyota Concert has been expanded outside Vietnam. The program will be held in 4 big cities including Vientiane (Laos), Phnom Penh (Cambodia), Hochiminh City and Hanoi (Vietnam) from 24 July 2012 to 06 August 2012.

With the aim of impulsing the cultural exchange between nations, especially in the field of classical music, Toyota Concert Tour 2012 Vietnam – Laos – Cambodia actually becomes one of significant activities on the occasion of the 50th year of the establishment of Vietnam – Laos diplomatic relations, the 35th year of the signing of the Vietnam – Laos Friendship and Co-operation Treaty, and the 45th year of the establishment of Vietnam – Cambodia diplomatic relations.

The Toyota Concert Tour 2012 Vietnam – Laos – Cambodia is meticulously arranged and performed by the VNSO under the baton of Japanese maestro Honna Tetsuji. Especially, at the concerts in Vietnam, the Vietnamese talent Bui Cong Duy will play the solo violin in the Violin Concerto d-major op.61 of the composing genius Ludwid van Beethoven. In Laos and Cambodia, beside some specific pieces of music from the 2 neighbors and the world’s famous classical works such as joyful marching songs of Johhan Strauss II and light concert music pieces of the American composer Leroy Anderson, singer Trinh Thanh Binh will bring people of the 2 countries the beauty of Vietnam’s music through his emotive voice in the song “Gap nhau tren dinh Truong Son” (Meeting on the top of Truong Son Mount) composed by Hoang Ha and the immortal song “Tinh ca” (Love song) composed by Hoang Viet, contributing to the close friendship among Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. With its excellent performance content, the Toyota Concert Tour 2012 Vietnam – Laos – Cambodia is expected to bring high aesthetics value and sophisticated melodies to music fans in the four cities.
