VietNamNet Bridge – The Friends of Vietnam Heritage will screen the movie Cyclo by Vietnamese-born French director Tran Anh Hung today at the Centre for Development of Movie Talent (TPD).

Set in the 1990s in HCM City, Cyclo follows a young cyclo driver (played by Le Van Loc), who was forced into crime when his rickshaw is stolen. The movie is a rocking symphony revealing human’s deep consciences when confronting with goodness and evil in the context of turbulent social condition.
The 1995 movie has received much acclaim from international critics. Praised as “Superb ‘Cyclo’ shows a Vietnam on the brink of chaos”, the Chicago Tribune wrote “almost every shot in Cyclo is memorable.” The movie won a Golden Lion Award at the Venice Film Festival in 1995.
