Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh, Head of the National Steering Committee for International Integration will lead a Vietnamese delegation to visit the US from September 15-19 to discuss important matters on Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) negotiations with US partners.
The visit aims to conclude the TPP negotiations soon, giving a boost to wider cooperation in economics, trade and investment between the two nations.
Ministry of Industry and Trade leaders said the visit is of great significance as it should contribute to removing difficulties in TPP negotiations and affirmed Vietnam’s determination to join the high-standard FTA.
During his stay in Washington DC, Ninh plans to hold meetings with representatives from the US Senate and House of Representatives, the US Department of Commerce, the US Department of the Treasury and the Peterson Institute for International Economics.
In addition, the Deputy PM is scheduled to meet with a group of scholars from the Vietnamese Experts Network in the US, a group of US garment, textile and footwear businesses and attend a roundtable discussion with the US business community.
In Boston, he will also spend a day working with Harvard University scholars.
