The inspection teams — one in the north of the country, one in the center and one in the south — will coordinate with the relevant authorities to check whether petrol businesses, including traders, agents and retailers, are complying with the current regulations.
The inspections should not cause any inconvenience to businesses, especially those conducting normal business operations and complying with the law. The inspection teams will focus on those entities failing to adhere to the regulations, show signs of violation and ignore their obligations over petrol supply.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, there is currently no shortage of fuel supply on the market at the moment. But some businesses are selling moderate amounts of fuels due to concerns over losses though they have sufficient stock to meet consumers’ demand.
The inspections are intended to pinpoint the reasons for the recent fuel supply disruptions, and the ministry will come up with coping solutions.
