A space for exhibitions and activities for Tet will be open from February 2 to 8 at the Vietnam Exhibition Center of Culture and Arts, 2 Hoa Lu, Hai Ba Trung district, Hanoi.

With the theme “Spring Festival 2018”, the event provides a festive Tet atmosphere, with familiar traditional food and arts such as banh chung (square glutinous cake), mam ngu qua (a set of five types of fruit), flowers, tea, calligraphy, and so on. There will also be a space for introducing the “art” of enjoying tea and calligraphy.

A flower market with many types will also be held at the event. Artisans from traditional craft villages nationwide will showcase their skills, to honor traditional cultural values. They will introduce paper flowers from Thanh Tien village in Hue, silverwork from Chau Khe village in Hai Duong, bamboo dragonflies from Thach That district in Hanoi, and conical hats from Chuong village in Thanh Oai district, Hanoi.

An exhibition of 100 photos will be also displayed to introduce visitors to the cultural heritage, nature, and traditional Tet celebrations and festivals found in Vietnam.

There will a corner with an exhibit on how Vietnamese celebrated Tet during wartime, after the war ended in 1975 until the economic reform period began in 1986, and today. As it is the Year of the Dog, the exhibition will also recall historical events that happened in other years of the dog and famous people born in those years.

Organic products and precious stones are also on offer, while familiar dishes from rural areas in the north will be available in small huts with thatched roofs at the cuisine area.

While tasting specialties from different places, visitors can also enjoy traditional music and arts from local artists of the Tuoi Tre (Youth) Theater, the Vietnam Music, Dance and Songs Theater, the Vietnam Circus Federation, the Vietnam Cheo (Traditional Operetta) Theater, and the Vietnam Central Puppetry Theater.
