Working in collaboration with the Centre of the Old Quarter's Culture Exchange, the Dinh Lang cultural group are set to organise an event to mark the 1010th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi on October 10, 2020.

The occasion’s most important ritual will be a ceremony of Neu pole erection, a tall bamboo tree with red garment strips used to ward off evil spirits during Tet, which will be planted at a flower garden situated close to Hoan Kiem lake.

In addition, a number of folk performances including lion dances and folk songs from different regions will also be held.

Moreover, the Kim Ngan temple space at 42 Hang Bac street will be hosting a wide range of activities such as worshiping rituals and exhibitions featuring Kim Hoang and Dong Ho paintings.

Rituals involving the wrapping and boiling of Chung cake and the Tet offerings to worship ancestors by Hanoi’s families will be performed at Heritage House at 87 Ma May street.

Visitors will have the opportunity to experience Tet with a family from Hanoi whilst also enjoying specialties of the season and admiring the Hang Trong folk art. VOV
