VietNamNet Bridge – As the traffic light system on some northeastern roads of HCM City on Sept 7 did not work properly, traffic chaos occurred for hours on many roads Monday morning.

Traffic jams lasted for several hours on Hanoi Highway, Vo Van Van, Le Van Viet, Pham Van Dong, and Nguyen Thai Son.

The incident was caused by improper operation of the traffic light system.

Specifically, the traffic light at the Thu Duc overpass on the Hanoi Highway was red for nearly one hour while the lights at crossroads on Le Van Liet and Vo Van Ngan roads were green.

Despite the presence of traffic police, the situation was chaotic.

At 9am, when the traffic light system was fixed, order gradually resumed.
