In a tragic incident at a wood factory in Binh Duong province, a dust storage tank exploded while workers were cleaning the company's dust extraction system, resulting in severe injuries to at least nine workers.
By 6 PM on July 6th, authorities from Bac Tan Uyen District Police and the local labor union were actively investigating the cause of the explosion at Hoang Thong Wood Company, located in Tan Binh Industrial Park, Tan Binh town, Bac Tan Uyen District, Binh Duong Province.
According to an initial report from Hoang Thong Wood Company, the explosion occurred around 2 PM while workers were performing maintenance on the dust extraction system inside the factory. The sudden blast from the dust storage tank threw several workers off their feet, causing severe burns.
Nearby colleagues quickly responded to the emergency, assisting the injured workers. Preliminary assessments indicate that at least nine individuals sustained burn injuries, with four of them in critical condition.
The severely injured workers were promptly transported to hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City for urgent medical treatment.
On the same afternoon, the leadership of Binh Duong's Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs dispatched officials to the scene to collaborate with other agencies in determining the exact cause of the explosion.
