At 3.30 am on July 30, SE3 – a Hanoi - HCM City passenger train ran through Hoang Mai commune in Nghe An district. At barrier of Km442 +730, it was hit by a truck carrying cement, driven by Ho Cong Lam, which was running from the Hoang Mai Cement Plant to the 1A Highway.

The crash shattered the locomotive and seriously injured driver Nguyen Van Manh, a staff of the Saigon Railway Passenger Transport Company.

The train had to stop and the train driver was taken to emergency. More than 50 tons of cement on the truck fell on the road. The car cabin was also damaged.

Hoang Mai station chief, Mr. Bui Dang Sau, said because of the accident, many passenger and cargo trains had to stop their journey to wait for clearance.

By 6 am, the route returned to normal. The case is being investigated.
