
Eight-time champion Quan won the men's singles title after Ngo Quang Huy retired from third set when the two sides drew 6-4, 4-6 in two sets. Huy got a cramp when serving 40-40 in the first game of the third set.
On Thursday, Quan also beat Le Quoc Khanh 2-1 (6-7, 6-3, 6-0) in the semi-final.
In the mixed doubles event, Do Minh Quan and Huynh Mai Huynh won the title after defeating Bui Thai Luan and Nguyen Ai Ngoc Van by 2-0 in the final match.
In the quarter-final match, Quan beat 16-year-old talent Nguyen Hoang Thien, the first Vietnamese player to take part in the Australian Open Tennis Tournament for U-18 players.
In other semi-finals, Ngo Quang Huy easily beat Ho Huynh Dan Mach by 2-0 (7-5,
6-0).
The five-day tournament attracted more than 40 players competing in men and women's singles and doubles, and mixed doubles events.
The tourney offers the organisers an opportunity to choose the most outstanding tennis players to compete at the 26th Southeast Asian Games in November in Indonesia.
