Many local travel firms are offering discounts on cherry blossom tours to Japan and South Korea.

For this cherry blossom season, prices of Japan tours range from VND35 million (US$1,645) to VND44 million while four-day tours to South Korea cost VND18 million.

Vietravel is offering discounts of VND600,000 to VND3 million per guest for its tours to Japan. But most of these discounted tours will depart in early April, when cherry blossoms are less beautiful.

Ben Thanh Tourist is slashing prices of its five-day tours to Seoul and Nami in South Korea on chartered flights operated Vietnam Airlines. The tour prices are down by 30% to less than VND15 million.

Lien Bank Travelink reduces six-day tours departing on April 11 to South Korea by VND1 million to VND21.9 million.

Fiditour cuts prices of cherry blossom tours to Japan and South Korea by VND2-5 million per tour. Guests buying group tours will be offered additional discounts of VND150,000 to VND500,000 per person.

Saigontourist is offering more discounts to woo cherry blossom lovers. Guests booking tours on its website dulichtet.com will enjoy a discount of VND2 million on tours to Japan and VND500,000 on South Korea trips.

The company has launched two special tours for tourists to save up to VND10-15 million, including the four-day trips to Tokyo and Fuji Mountain costing VND30 million and the Tokyo-Hitachi Park-Hanamiyama-Ashikaga Flower Garden-Fuji Mountain tours priced at VND40 million.

Tran Van Long, chairman of the club of organizers of tours to Japan, said most member companies have sold cherry blossom tours at lower prices than in previous seasons. The club groups 20 companies specializing in Japan tours.
