Tour packages to Can Gio and Cu Chi districts are being offered at VND1.6 million and VND680,000 per person, respectively, under the closed model. According to the schedule, these tours are expected to begin after October 15 and take place during the weekend.
A representative of Ho Chi Minh City-based travel agency Saigontourist revealed that the move comes after the success of eight tours specifically designed for more than 1,000 frontline healthcare workers to Can Gio and Cu Chi districts.
All the guests participating in the pilot scheme have since sent positive feedback providing a foundation for the company to offer fresh tours moving into the ‘new normal’, said the Saigontourist representative.
According to a representative from Vietravel, tours to the ‘green areas’ in Ho Chi Minh City where COVID-19 has brought under control have already begun to receive visitors this week, with transportation means and services required to operate at approximately 50% of their capacity in line with the Health Ministry’s 5K message.
The reopening of tours at this time aims to gradually restore economic activities, and at the same time to explore the market demand to design additional tourism products for the next stages, according to the representative from Vietravel.
Under the roadmap to revive its tourism industry, the city has only reopened tourism activities in “green zones” as of October.
