According to the British newspaper, street food tours are a popular activity among tourists when visiting Hanoi.

Tour guides in the city are skilled at explaining the colour and texture of Vietnamese delicacies in addition to discussing the Chinese, French, and American influence on the country’s famous dishes.

The newspaper also suggested some cuisine for guests to sample when in Hanoi.

The recommendations include banh da ca, soup made with tea-coloured noodles which is a delicacy of Haiphong, banh cuon, minced pork and local mushrooms served in rice paper and sprinkled with fried shallots, coffee, and sua chua nep cam, a type of chewy black fermented sticky rice with frozen yoghurt.
