Around 2,000 people are expected to attend the show called Quen Di Tinh Yeu Cu (Forget an Old Love), which will begin at 8pm at the Hoa Binh Theatre.

Though Son will be singing his love songs that shot him to fame in the 1990s, he said some of his latest works would be featured, with support from the Nguyen Quang Band.

The 59-year-old artist said he would try his best to win over fans.

"I'm not a wild man with long hair any more. I changed. But my music is still here," said Son during a press conference held in the city on Monday.

The show's highlights will include Di Vang (The Past), Ve Day Em (Come Back to Me), Con Duong Mau Xanh (Green Path) and Nho (Remember).

Son will also perform English and French songs, which made his famous.

His live show will be televised on Viet Nam Television's VTV9.

Born in then Sai Gon (now HCM City) in 1959, Son showed his talent in music when he was at school.

In 1976, he moved to the US and performed as an amateur in pop bands.

Later he reached Los Angeles to complete his dream of becoming a professional singer and composer at the Dick Grove School of Music.

His show Quen Di Tinh Yeu Cu will be held on January 10 in Hoa Binh Theatre, 240 Ba Thang Hai Street, District 1.
