VietNamNet Bridge – On the afternoon of May 9, a coach carrying over 20 passengers from Tien Giang province to HCM City was crashed by a 15-ton truck on Nguyen Van Linh Road, HCM City.



The accident happened at 4pm. The 29-seat coach, driven by Pham Vo Thanh Phuong, 31, was hit by a truck, controlled by Nguyen Hoai Han, 27, at the Nguyen Van Linh – National Highway 1A intersection.

After the crash, the coach rotated and slid for over 10m before hitting a motorbike and overturned. Over ten passengers and the motorbike drivers were seriously wounded. They were transported to a local hospital for emergency aid.

“People on the coach screamed. Some were fainted because of wounds. Some tried to break glass windows to crawl out. The truck driver and local residents rushed to rescue victims,” a local man said.

At the scene, the coach was overturned. The motorbike was several meters from the coach. The truck head was deformed. There is no traffic light at the intersection.

The Binh Chanh Hospital reported to receive 12 victims in the accident. Three people who were in dangerous status were transferred to Cho Ray Hospital.
