

The accident happened at 10.30am of June 7. A truck of a private company in Da Nang, ran by driver Luong Huy Hoang, was running on Nguyen Phan Vinh Road, heading to Tien Sa port, when it suddenly sprang up and rushed into the watch tower of Regiment 83. The crash made the tower and a piece of concrete fence collapse.
At the time, there were four people working in the tower, including one soldier and three workers.
After the accident, Da Nang’s rescue workers, traffic policemen and soldiers were sent to the site, with two cranes, one fire-truck and one ambulance.



At around 12pm, the first victim, soldier Tran Anh Tuan, was taken from the rubble. He was seriously wounded.
One later hour, all three others victims were found but all of them were dead. They included workers Nguyen Van Phuc, Tran Van Que and an unknown man.
Curious people flocked to the site, causing a traffic jam.
The truck driver ran away from the site after the accident but he then gave himself up to the police.
Da Nang police are investigating the accident.
