At around 8pm on November 20, a truck driven by Dao Van Son, 29 years old, a resident of Nghi Loc district, Nghe An, with three people on board lost control on the road of Doc Moi in Tuong Duong district and fell into an abyss.

Driver Son was thrown out of the cabin and stuck on a cliff. He died shortly after that. Mr. Luu Minh Phuong, 51, a native of Anh Son district, Nghe An province died on the spot and one of the two seriously injured people died on the way to the hospital.

Local police said that it was very difficult to take the truck out of the abyss because the abyss is very deep. Last night nearly 40 policemen and specialized vehicles were sent to the site for the rescue.

"It took us an hour to reach the truck and take the victims to the hospital. The driver was stuck on a cliff so we spent four hours to find his body," said Lieutenant Nguyen Anh Cuong – head of the traffic police team of Tuong Duong district.

This afternoon, the police took the truck out of the abyss and made scene investigation to define the cause of the accident.
