The three rush-hour slots are from 6am to 9am, from 11am to 2:30pm, and from 4pm to 7:30pm.

Trucks with loading capacity of over 500kg and 25+-seat buses will be banned from entering the streets of Pham Hung, Thang Long Boulevard, Do Duc Duc, Mieu Dam and Tran Duy Hung, in addition to Nguyen Chi Thanh, Lieu Giai, Kim Ma, Dao Tan and Lang.

Instead of running through city streets, the vehicles must travel via the National Highway No 5 to the northern provinces of Vinh Phuc and Phu Tho.

Vehicles running from the south to the north, and vice-versa, will use Thang Long Bridge and Ring Road No3.

When meeting convoys with traffic police cars, all vehicles must promptly give way, approach the curb and stop completely to give way to the convoy.

The police said the move is aimed to ensure smooth traffic flow during the SOM2.
