VietNamNet Bridge – Midfielder Dinh Thanh Trung of Quang Nam FC was voted as the best player of the V.League 2017 season in a gala ceremony held in Hanoi on Saturday.

Trung, who is the club captain and a member of the national team, received the highest votes to take the title, after a successful season that saw his club triumph the V.League for the first time in history and enjoy a bonus of VND3 billion (US$135,000).

His trainer Hoang Van Phuc was declared the best coach of the year.

The best scorer was Nguyen Anh Duc of Becamex Binh Duong with 17 goals, while Omar Faye of FLC Thanh Hoa netted the best goal of the year.

Nguyen Quang Hai of Ha Noi FC received the best young player title.

FIFA referee Vo Minh Tri was the best referee.

At the gala, the organisers also presented awards to the clubs with the best ground, the best youth training centre and the fair-play award, as well as announced the team of the year.

In 2018, 14 teams will compete in V.League 1, while 10 teams will participate in V.League 2. The season will start on March 10 and end on October 7.
