VietNamNet Bridge – Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) cum Chairman of FPT Corporation was elected as the first vice chairman of the Asian-Oceania Computing Industry Organisation (ASOCIO) at the Vietnam - ASOCIO ICT Summit 2014 on October 28-31.

At the summit, the General Assembly of ASOCIO elected a new leadership for the next tenure from 2015 to 2016.

Chairman of the Association of Thai ICT Industry (ATCI) Saraggananda Bunrak was voted the new chairman of the ASOCIO while Vice Chairman of the Japan Information Techonology Service Industry Association (JISA), Takarashi Igarashi was elected as the vice chairman for finance.

Chairman, first vice chairman and vice chairman for finance are the top leadership positions of ASOCIO.

Being elected to the second highest position in the ASOCIO, the VINASA Chairman has helped raise Vietnam's position in the Asian-Oceania IT community.

Truong Gia Binh has held the ASOCIO vice chairman position since 2010.

The General Assembly of ASOCIO also elected seven other vice chairmen for the 2015-2016 term who are ICT leaders from Japan, the Republic of Korea, Hong Kong (China), Nepal, Malaysia, Taiwan (China) and Sri Lanka.

ASOCIO new chairman, Saraggananda Bunrak said that he has known Binh for ten years and admires him for being a leader of full energy and creative ideas. He also noted that with the co-operation of Binh, he believes they will accomplish targets set out in the coming tenure, lifting ASOCIO to a new height of development.
