Vietnamese chess master Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son emerged unbeaten champion on August 11 at the 2015 Asian Continental Rapid Chess Tournament held at the Hilton Al Ain Hotel in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Son earned a total of 6 points after seven rounds of play to clinch the title while teammate Le Quang Liem finished fifth with total points of 5.5.

In women’s rapid chess, Nguyen Thi Mai Hung placed ninth with 4.5 points while Pham Le Thao Nguyen, Le Kieu Thien Kim and Nguyen Thi Thanh An came in 11th, 16th and 29th respectively.
