VietNamNet Bridge – Newly-elected National Assembly (NA) Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung has introduced Truong Tan Sang as the nominee for the State Presidency of the 2011-2016 term.

The polls will be conducted by the 13th NA on the afternoon of July 25.
Mr. Sang, 62, Permanent Secretariat of the Politburo Standing Secretariat of the Vietnam Communist Party’s Central Committee, was recommended by the NA Standing Committee.
Mr. Sang, from Mekong Delta’s Long An Province, is a bachelor of law. He was elected to the 7th Party Central Committee, at the age of 42. He has been a member of the Politburo of four consecutive tenures and a member of the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th NA.
Before working as the Permanent Secretariat, he used to be the head of the Central Economic Committee and the general secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Communist Party.
The newly-elected State President will take office on the afternoon of July 25.
