The Miss Universe 2013 competition has not started yet but experts have made assessment and comments on the contestants this year.
Recently, a Canadian expert - Andrew made the list of the top 25 contestants who he believed to rank highly in the competition, including Truong Thi May of Vietnam. May is named in the top besides the representatives from Spain, Ukraine, USA and Venezuela.
Andrew praised May as an impressive Asian face in this year's Miss Universe pageant.
“In recent year Vietnam sent to the pageant outstanding representatives. This year I think they chose the naturally beautiful face to impress. She's beautiful, with excellent spirit and charming in the pictures. I do not know much about her but through these pictures, I think she will easily win a rightful place in the competition. In other words, I am not too surprised if she wins," Andrew said.
Over a week ago, when Truong Thi May was announced as the representative Vietnam in the contest, the Missosoloy page posted the pictures of May and Miss Korea for fans to make comparison and May’s beauty is better praised than Miss Korea.
May was born in 1988 to Khmer-Vietnamese parents. May grew up in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang, where much of Vietnam’s Khmer population lives. She has been practicing austere Buddhism and following a strict vegetarian diet since she was 13.
May, 25, 1.72 m tall, was the former first runner-up of Miss Vietnam Ethnicity 2007. She was also the former runner-up in Miss Vietnam Photogenic 2006 pageant. May was appointed twice to represent Vietnam in Miss Earth pageant but missed both chances. In 2009, she had an accident just ahead of the contest. In 2011, she refused the invitation from Thanh Nien Corp., citing her busy schedule for acting and her grandmother’s sickness.
