South Korean Kim You-ri, who won the third stage, failed to extend her winning streak on this 110km stage from Ben Tre city to Cao Lanh city.

Kim held the lead without her team's support for the last 50km with a top speed of 40kmph, but she was passed by Tu and other riders when she was reaching the finish line.

Tu of An Giang Plant Protection 2 completed the stage in two hours, 53 minutes 58 seconds. Phan Thi Thuy Lieu from An Giang Plant Protection finished second, while South Korea's You Jina came to third.

You retained the yellow jersey for the best overall time of 8:54.21 after four stages. Nguyen Thi That of An Giang Plant Protection, who won the second stage, and Nguyen Thuy Dung were the runners-up.

In addition, You retained the green jersey as the best sprinter with 51 points, followed by Dung (45 points) and That (33 points).

With You's effort, the South Koreans lead the team race with a combined time of 26:43.57, followed by An Giang Plant Protection 2 and Binh Duong Water Supply-Drainage and Environment team.

Today, cyclists will continue on to the fifth 88km stage from Cao Lanh city to Can Tho city.

The 600km tour attracted the participation of 65 athletes from 13 domestic and foreign teams, including two teams from Malaysia and South Korea.

They will compete in a total of seven stages through 12 provinces and cities, finishing on Saturday.
