Currently, there are 12 universities in Vietnam generating annual revenues exceeding VND 1 trillion (about USD 41.7 million).

The group of public universities includes Hanoi University of Science and Technology, National Economics University, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, Ton Duc Thang University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education.

The four private institutions are FPT University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, and Van Lang University.
