VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnamese Paralympics swimmer Vo Thanh Tung ranked fifth in his final category, the men’s 100m freestyle S5, at the Rio Paralympics in Brazil yesterday, Sept 18.

He clocked a time of 1:18.02 in the final round. However, in the qualifying round, Tung, born in the southern province of Can Tho, performed better, with a time of 1:17.64.
The gold medal in this competition was won by Brazil’s Dias Daniel.
The Viet Nam team finished the Paralympics with one gold, thanks to power lifter Le Van Cong, one silver earned by Tung in the 50m freestyle, two bronzes by power lifter Dang Thi Linh Phuong and javelin thrower Cao Ngoc Hung.
