VietNamNet Bridge – More than 100 cyclists will compete in a nearly 1,800km ride for the HCM City Television Cycling Cup through 11 cities and provinces such as Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue, Da Nang and HCM City.


They will start the first stage at Quang Tri Old Citadel on April 14 and finish the 15th stage at Thong Nhat (Reunification) Palace on April 30 (Liberation Day) in HCM City.

The winner will be awarded VND60 million (US$2,900). The second-and third-place finishers will receive VND$40 million ($1,900) and VND$20 million ($960), respectively.

FIFA ranks Viet Nam 30th in world

Viet Nam's national women's football team have risen one position to 30th place in the world with 1,641 points, according to the Internationall Federation of Football Association‘s rankings in March.

They take sixth place in the Asian region, behind strong teams such as Japan, North Korea, Australia and South Korea.

The US lead the world rankings with 2,166 points, followed by Germany (2,163) and Japan (2,114).
