VietNamNet Bridge – World acclaimed hiphop and breakdance tournament “Battle of The Year”(BOTY) will take place in HCMC on August 9, featuring 20 top dance groups nationwide.

This is known as the biggest breakdance competition this year for the talented dancers from S.I.N.E, FreeStyle, BigToe, Big South and OxyCrew, among others, to show their talent. A judging panel consisting of popular B-Boys from foreign countries like B-Boy Wing from Jinjo Crew and B-Boy Born from Rivers Crew from South Korea, B-Boy Katsu from Japan, and B-Boys Farhan and Felix from Radikal Forze/7$ from Singapore will help find the best team to represent Vietnam at BOTY South Asia at Tien Son Sports Stadium in Danang on August 29.

Then the winning B-Boy team of Vietnam will compete with other 10 rivals in the region to get a ticket to Germany for the BOTY Finals on October 18.

DJ for the tournament in Vietnam will be hiphop talent Red Ant Bui Minh Tri. Audiences to the event will have a chance to enjoy performances by young popular singers and dancers and join in some interesting activities like Dance cypher, Graffiti, hiphop accessories and fashion market.

BOTY Vietnam 2014, which is organized by SyncNamArt, a company majoring in community and art events for the youth, will take place at Tan Binh Sports Hall at 18 Xuan Hong Street in HCMC’s Tan Binh District. S.I.N.E won last year’s event, also arranged by SyncNamArt.

Previously, Vietnam had the first BOTY in 2009 held by Young World Trade and Telecommunications Joint Stock Company in Hanoi.

Originating in Germany in 1990, BOTY has drawn around 10,000 participants annually.
