“The Art of Chamber Music” will be held on May 28, at the HCM City Opera House, 7 Lam Son Square, with the participation of outstanding artists in HCMC in the field of symphony orchestra: Meritorious Artist Nguyen Tan Anh (Cello), Dao Nhat Quang (Clarinet), Tang Thanh Nam (violin), Ju Sun Young (piano), Pham Vu Thien Bao (viola) and talented Japanese artists Kosei Maekawa (oboe) Kaoru Kamiishi (flute), Nana Ishizaki (harp).
This performance will bring new styles of music, which are more or less dissimilar to the classical music of the late 18th and early 19th century.
The chamber music of famous composers of Romantic era: G.Bizet, D. Shostakovich, F. Lizst, S. Rachmaninov, A. Dvorak. Two representatives of 20th century music: A. Schnittke (Russia), G. Pierné (France). The program introduces the work of two famous contemporary Japanese composers: K. Hirao and Shin-Ichiro Ikebe.
The program also features artists from the HBSO string orchestra.
The second concert - “Ringing Strings” - with the performance of artists who are currently teaching at Music Academies in Portugal, Thailand and Vietnam will be held on May 30 at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music, 112 Nguyen Du Street, District 1.
In this concert, beside familiar artists such as Pham Vu Thien Bao (Viola artist), Tran Ngoc Nguyen Trinh (Pianist), the audience will have opportunity to enjoy music from American artistsStefanie Weagner and Rudolph Kremer.
Rudolph Kremer holds a Master’s Degree from Western Illinois University, where he studied with Almita and Roland Vamos.
He was the first violinist of the Fidelio String Quartet in Lisbon, Portugal while teaching at that city’s National Superior. He plays with the Chicago Symphony, the Minnesota Orchestra and international professional orchestras such as the San Francisco Opera, Florida orchestra, International Orchestra of Italy, and the Malaysian Philharmonic.
Stefanie is a member of the faculty of the Franconian Chamber Music Academy (Germany) as well as the Centre for Music Education and Outreach (Vienna).
Since October 2011 she has been part of the faculty of the Chamber Music Academy (CMA) at Mahidol University (Thailand). She has performed extensively as principal cellist and soloist with numerous chamber orchestras, such as Ensemble Klanglust, the Bamberg University Chamber Orchestra, the Graz Baroque Orchestra and the Salonorchestra Graz.
An enthusiastic chamber musician, she has founded various professional ensembles, performing in the USA, UK, Taiwan, Italy, Austria, Germany and Spain, and won prizes at international chamber music competitions in Greece and Austria.
The audience will be inspired through the works of composers such as W.A. Mozart, J. Brahms, Erno Dohnanyl, Richard Strauss, and Franz Schubert.
