VietNamNet Bridge - Ho Chi Minh City police are investigating a diamond theft worth VND6 billion ($300,000) in District 9. In another case, Binh Thanh District police have arrested a maid who stole a $300,000 diamond ring of her employer.




 
On November 28, HCM City police said that they were investigating a burglary occurred at a house on Cau Dinh road, Phuoc Long ward, District 9.
 
According to the victim, when they returned home after a trip, they found out that burglars broke into the house to take away 54 diamonds and a lot of valuable jewelries worth VND6 billion.
 
In a similar case, the police of Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City, have arrested a woman named Pham Thi Dung, 31, from Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, for stealing a diamond ring worth VND6 billion of a woman named H at the Saigon Pearl building on Nguyen Huu Canh road, Binh Thanh District , Ho Chi Minh City.
 
H is the wife of a famous businessman in HCM City. According to the victim, when she came home from work, she found the bedroom being rummaged and a diamond ring worth VND6 billion disappeared. At the same time, the maid, Pham Thi Dung, also disappeared.
 
H reported the case to the local police. Checking the camera in H’s room, the police defined that the thief was the maid.
 
The police arrested Dung while she was hiding in Ba Ria - Vung Tau.
