The two, one 35 and the other 28, from the UK and South Africa respectively visited the mountain in Lac Duong on the New Year occasion.
The two women have been rescued from getting lost on Lang Biang Mountain
Su Thanh Hoai, chairman of Lac Duong District, said that local authorities were informed on the late afternoon of January 1 by Nguyen Van Giang, 32, from the central city of Danang. Right after that, a rescue force was dispatched to Lac Duong Town.
Some hours later, the two women were found at the peak of Langbiang Mountain in the bone-chilling cold weather. They were very exhausted and cold. One of their phones had ran out of battery, while the other was almost in the same situation with just 5% of battery left.
Having been taken to Danang safely, the foreigners offered their deep thanks to the rescue force.
According to Giang, the women were acquaintances and him and his wife. The four took a visit to Da Lat City in Lam Dong on the New Year Holiday.
The two foreigners wanted to climb to the peak of Lang Biang, but Giang refused as his wife had a pain in her leg. At around 7 pm on January 1, the South African woman called Giang to say they were lost. Meanwhile, her phone was about to run out of battery.
Giang asked her to send him the location where they were at, but he lost her phone signal. Giang then contacted Lac Duong authorities for help. Dtinews/TTXVN
